Earlier this summer, Club Carlson roared into the summer promotion game with three big giveaways totaling 138,000 bonus points, but they’re not done yet. Club Carlson just launched yet another promo called the “25 for 25” where folks who complete a two-night stay at a Country Inn & Suites between now and October 14 can earn an additional 25,000 bonus Gold Points.You can register for the promotion here, and just a few more points from the terms and conditions: you can only earn the bonus once per member, the stay must be two or more consecutive nights in a standard room booked at the 25 For 25 Promotion Rate (which is not always the best rate), and the promotion is not valid on existing reservations.Just to take a quick look at how this works, you can book at room at the 25 For 25 rate here. I checked on a two-night stay in San Diego in September, and the 25 For 25 rate was $179 a night, while I could get an advance purchase rate of just $143 a night, and and a “Stay Two Save 15%” rate for $152. So basically I’d be paying an extra $72 for the bonus 25,000 points, or about 0.3 cents each.The 25 For 25 rate at this San Diego hotel was $36 more per night than the lowest rate I could find.That’s still less than it costs to purchase Club Carlson Gold points, which are normally 0.7 cents each, but still not the best deal. Especially considering that 25,000 points isn’t even enough to redeem for a Carlson Category 3 property (28,000 points) - the category into which many of the chain’s Country Inn & Suites fall, so this deal works out to not quite a buy 2 get 1 free deal.That’s why, though I’ll register, I’m not going to make a special effort to mattress run for this deal, but if a stay comes up somewhere where a Country Inn & Suites makes sense, I’ll consider spending the two nights there because 25,000 bonus points at least gets me halfway to a Radisson Blu redemption.Sign up for our daily newsletterEmail addressSign upI would like to subscribe to The Points Guy newsletters and special email promotions.
