The only way I can see this making sense is if you are close to an award and need to buy miles quickly or if you want to top up to lock-in million miler status, since American (for now) counts all mileage activity towards lifetime status.Otherwise, this is pretty blah. I would have liked to see US Airways-eqse 75-100% bonanza, but apparently American doesn’t want to be the consolidator of cheap Oneworld flights.
