But that didn’t stop businessman Li Yang from dropping roughly $5.2 million to turn a retired Boeing 737 into what he hopes will become a culinary hotspot in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.Known as Lily Airways, the plane-turned-eatery — which is located on the Optics Valley Pedestrian Street, one of Wuhan’s busiest shopping areas — maintains some fun nods to the traditional in-flight dining experience; the waitstaff dress in flight attendant uniforms, handle some of their duties from the plane’s galley and deliver food on that annoying cart you’re always getting stuck behind on your way back from the restroom. Though the menu isn’t available online, The Huffington Post reports that it’s fine dining all the way, with dinner reportedly setting you back about $30 to $45 per person. If you’re an aviation enthusiast, note that the plane’s cockpit has been turned into a flight-simulation experience, which will run you another $45 to $60.
