(As of this writing, Baltimore Washington International Airport had not released any travel precautions for those flying during the inauguration events.)The airport authority expects the surge to begin on Thursday, January 19, and subside after Sunday, January 22. During this time, officials expect more automobile traffic coming into the airport, longer lines at ticket counters and additional congestion at TSA checkpoints. Having access to an expedited security lane via TSA PreCheck could definitely come in handy during this period — though these lines could get quite long as well.Those with travel plans during the inauguration are asked to arrive at the airport up to four hours in advance and complete their check-in prior to arriving at the airport. Authorities also advised that passengers who experience flight delays or cancellations due to inclement weather should reach out to their airlines over the phone to rebook flights instead of standing in lines at ticket counters.However, not all changes will be for the worse for passengers. Those planning to attend the inauguration or parade on Friday, January 20, can park at Reagan National Airport for $10. From there, attendees can take the Reagan National Airport Metrorail to the various events.
