Apparently the Association of Flight Attendants has asked the government to ban in-flight wi-fi due to concerns that terrorists could use it to connect with bombs on an aircraft. Okay- shouldn’t we be focused on not allowing bombs on aircrafts to begin with?I love my in-flight wi-fi and I’m actually writing this post somewhere over Harrisburg, Pennsylvania cruising at 36,999 feet and traveling 548mph (thanks to free Delta wi-fi courtesy of Google). I’d be devastated without my wi-fi and may even start watching crappy romantic comedies. Hasn’t anyone thought that allowing terrorists to watch Zac Efron in Charlie St. Cloud might make them hate America a little bit more? How about Julia Roberts in that awful Eat, Pray, Love? I bet Bin Laden would blow a gasket if he had to watch that for hours while sandwiched in coach!Anyway, I think the AFA is overreacting, which is something we see all too much of in the travel world. Why is there such a dearth of level headed travel security policy makers?/Rant over[card card-name=‘Ink Plus® Business Credit Card’ card-id=‘22129636’ type=‘javascript’ bullet-id=‘1’]
