See privacy policy.In Monday’s feel good news, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines surprised a 90-year-old grandfather by honoring a ticket that was issued 83 years ago.In 1935, KLM held a shop-window contest for its offices in The Hauge and Amsterdam. Arnold Neahus won a sightseeing flight over Amsterdam when he was 7-years-old, but never went on his trip. KLM explained that during the time of the flight, Neahus’ sister had scarlet fever, so his entire family wasn’t allowed to interact with other people.Neahus ended up keeping the documents indicating his prize and showed them to his grandchildren. Neahus’ granddaughter went to KLM with her grandfather’s story and KLM wanted to him to enjoy the experience as if he were still young, so the airline had his 7-year-old great-grandson accompany them on their surprise flight.You can watch the KLM surprise unfold in the video below:In February, United Airlines made news when it honored a lost plane ticket from 19 years ago.
