Update 11/25/16: The strike is still officially on through tomorrow, November 26, but now Lufthansa is allowing passengers to make changes to all booked flights through November 30.Update 11/24/16: More bad news for Lufthansa passengers. The strike will now affect all intercontinental routes on November 26 as well. On November 25, only continental routes will be affected.Just in time for the holidays, we’re seeing a slew of strikes being announced. Earlier this week, Chicago airport travelers dodged a strike — which is now scheduled for November 29. Today, Eurowings is being grounded by a cabin crew strike. And now, a Lufthansa pilot strike has been announced for tomorrow, November 23.Affected FlightsOnly Lufthansa flights from Germany scheduled to depart between 12:00am and 11:59pm German local time on Wednesday, November 23 are affected. Flights operated by Lufthansa CityLine, Germanwings, Eurowings, Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and Brussels Airlines are not affected by the strike. See privacy policy.If You’re AffectedThere will be a lot of grounded passengers in Lufthansa’s Frankfurt hub tomorrow.If you’re on an affected flight, Lufthansa is allowing you one “free-of-charge rebooking” through the My Bookings section of the Lufthansa website. While it’s not spelled out, it seems that the airline is waiving both the change fee and fare difference. In order to qualify for the free change, you must have booked your flight before November 22, you must rebook in the same booking class; you can’t change the origin or destination airports; and your new date of travel must be completed by the end of February 2017.At this time, Lufthansa is only allowing passengers booked on flights from Germany on November 23 to change their flights. However, the strike will likely have longer-lasting impacts, as aircraft that were scheduled to fly from Germany on November 23 aren’t where they need to be for the return flight back to Germany.
