Each year, 10,000 kids and their families travel for wishes granted by the organization. Nearly 75% of all wishes involve travel to places including cultural sites, theme parks, sporting events and everything in between. In order to fulfill its mission each year, Make-A-Wish requires over 50,000 roundtrip tickets - the equivalent of 2.5 billion airline miles!Make-a-Wish Foundation, a great cause!April is a critical month for donations because it helps provide air travel for wishes granted during the summer. Make-A-Wish accepts miles from US Airways, United (who are matching up to 4 million miles for those donated in April) and Delta, all three are partners of the organization. Currently, Make-A-Wish does not have any relationships with any other carries, however, they can use transferable airline vouchers or tickets on a case-by-case basis. If you belong to JetBlue’s TrueBlue program, you are able to convert points into dollars and donate to Make-A-Wish.Remember, frequent flyer miles are considered a gift from the corporation to the individual so any miles donated to the charity are not considered tax deductible.Donate Today!Make-A-Wish has dozens of travel related wish stories on their website including the wish to search for seashells on Sanibel Island, a wish to visit Australia and a wish to ride in the Iditarod. They are very appreciative of all donations, and to contribute your miles, visit Make-A-Wish’s mileage donation page.[card card-name=‘Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card’ card-id=‘22125056’ type=‘javascript’ bullet-id=‘1’]
