DThe buffet at Istanbul Airport’s SkyTeam loungeSkyTeam’s first two branded lounges are located in London Heathrow’s Terminal 4 (LHR), which I’ve been to and really like, and Istanbul Attaturk International Airport (IST). The brand standards set by these two include contemporary, curvilinear design elements with separate areas for relaxation and business, as well as living walls, wine bars and buffets serving international cuisine. Two additional SkyTeam branded lounges are slated to open later this year, in Sydney (SYD) and Beijing (PEK), and are expected, along with the proposed lounge in Dubai, to have a similar design and features. One of the business areas in the SkyTeam lounge at HeathrowThe SkyTeam alliance presently has 19 members, including Delta, Air France/KLM, Korean Air, Saudia Airlines and China Eastern. On March 5, Garuda Indonesia is set to become SkyTeam’s 20th member.More details on the Dubai lounge will be released soon, but I’d like to see more lounges open up, especially in South America where the lounges are usually dismal at best. Buenos Aires or Sao Paulo would be a great start![card card-name=‘Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express’ card-id=‘22034414’ type=‘javascript’ bullet-id=‘1’]
