A popular airline that disappeared eight years ago is looking to make a comeback. Investors are looking to bring back Midwest Express Airlines and the airline could be flying again as soon as 2020.The Wisconsin State Journal reports that SEC filings show two investors have already infused $750,000 in cash to revive Midwest Express.“Our goal is to bring back Midwest Express — the brand and all the brand elements that made it so popular the first time around,” Christine Williams, spokeswoman for the company’s three officers, told the Journal....

A United Airlines passenger was arrested Sunday night at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) after deploying and sliding down the aircraft’s inflatable emergency chute during boarding.United Flight 1640 to Tampa International Airport (TPA) was parked at the gate at EWR when a passenger opened the emergency exit door and evacuated the plane using the slide. The flight, originally scheduled to depart EWR at 7:00pm, took off at 12:09am, about five hours behind schedule....

It’s not everyday that people feel charitable while sitting within the close confines of an airplane, but when a Chicago school teacher told a fellow passenger about her students’ low incomes on Southwest Flight 1050, she moved her seat-mate and others on the plane. The woman deplaned with more than $500 in cash and in awe of what it could do for her students.The school teacher, Kimberly Bermudez, posted about the experience on Facebook, explaining that the conversation all began when the man sitting next to her asked her about her job....

Google Flights recently underwent a redesign, unveiling a new interface and additional search functionality. One of the US’s busiest airports is getting a much-needed upgrade to its passenger movement system. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) released renderings of its new Automated People Mover (APM) system.LAX is known for its congestion and this project could ease getting in and out of the airport. Construction is expected to begin this year and the system will be fully operational by 2023.The APM will sit on 2.25 miles of track and connect different terminals and car rental areas — even offering a link to the LA metro system....

Following a scathing “60 Minutes” segment on Allegiant Air that called the budget carrier’s safety record into question, several US Senators are asking the FAA for more information.The seven-month “60 Minutes” investigation found that Allegiant had more than 100 serious mechanical incidents between January 2016 and October 2017. Despite the fact that the statistic is far higher than the number of serious mechanical incidents among Allegiant’s competitors, the Federal Aviation Administration has allowed the airline to operate with hardly any penalties....

The newest Airbus aircraft took to the skies for the first time ever Thursday afternoon.The newest version of the Airbus A330 was first announced in 2014 and is intended to give the A330 program new legs to continue into the 21st century. While “neo” stands for “new engine option,” the modifications don’t stop with newer, more efficient and quieter Rolls-Royce Trent engines....
