Fitness model and Instagram star Jen Selter was kicked off an American Airlines flight yesterday after getting into an argument with a flight attendant. Selter has 11.7 million Instagram followers and is known for her fitness advice and selfies.Selter, 24, was on an AA flight 2325 from Miami (MIA) to New York (LGA) when the incident occurred on Saturday. Apparently the 737-800 was sitting on the tarmac waiting to take off for two hours and customers were getting antsy....

Fake reviews on TripAdvisor aren’t a new phenomenon, but this may be the first time anyone faced real consequences after posting one.An Italian court sentenced a man to nine months in prison and fined him €8,000 on Tuesday after he was found guilty of fraud for writing fake reviews of hotels and other business that were posted to TripAdvisor.The man was the owner of a company called PromoSalento, which sold packages of fake reviews to businesses in order to boost their ratings on websites like TripAdvisor or Yelp....

Another cringeworthy airline incident has surfaced this morning. United Airlines is the culprit again — and, coincidentally enough, it reportedly occurred on the same day that Dr. David Dao was forcibly dragged off a United flight.Nicole Harper was on a United flight from Houston (IAH) to Kansas City (MCI) when she had to use the restroom about 30 minutes into the flight. Harper says that she told the flight attendants that she has an overactive bladder, but they refused to let her venture to the lavatory because the fasten seat belt sign was turned on....

The app that changed the way we get around just got a major update for the first time since 2012 — and it looks drastically different. The new Uber app, which was released today, has a new interface and design, and the first time you open it, it might be pretty shocking. Scientists are still recording volatile volcanic activity as Hawaii’s Kilauea enters its fifth week of eruptions.The gushing molten magma has destroyed at least 400 homes across the subdivisions in the path of the lava flows.“We expect larger explosions will continue at the summit,” Wendy Stovall, a geologist with the US Geological Survey told the AP. But the situation is unpredictable. Stovall says “it’s still really impossible to tell” when the activity will stop....

Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano is still erupting — and now its flames are changing colors.Methane emanating from cracks in Kilauea’s lava flow is turning the flames a bright shade of blue. A video released from the US Geological Survey shows the blue flames flickering on top of the molten rock that has been oozing through the Leilani Estates subdivision on the Big Island.The lava produces methane as it flows through wooded areas and burns plants and trees....

Last spring, following a draining four-day reporting trip around Detroit, I desperately needed a beer. Airbus’ gargantuan A380 is on life support. The biggest passenger jet ever made hasn’t received any orders since Emirates tacked on two more to its fleet in April 2016. This has since been negated by Air France’s cancellation of two aircraft in early 2017. Airbus is currently only producing one of these aircraft per month, and that rate is subject to drop in 2019 if the manufacturer can’t firm up more orders....
