Air Niugini announced Saturday that a male passenger from crashed Flight 73 was unaccounted for. The airline previously stated that everyone on board had been rescued from the Boeing 737-800 that sunk into 100 feet of water Friday just past the Chuuk International Airport (TKK) runway in Micronesia.Papua New Guinea’s flagship airline released a statement on its website saying, “As of 12:30pm today, we are unable to account for a single male passenger and are working with the local authorities, hospitals and investigators to locate this passenger who was aboard our flight PX 073....

Spirit Airlines’ CEO will step down from his position in 2019, the ultra low-cost carrier said on Wednesday. Effective 2019, Robert Fornaro, who took over just last year, will hand over the company’s top position to current Chief Financial Officer Ted Christie.As reported by Bloomberg, on January 1, 2019, Fornaro will step down and Christie will take over. In the interim, Christie will become president of the airline and will join its board beginning in 2018....

Believe it or not, it’s been nearly 50 years since the maiden flight of Boeing’s first 737. In total, Boeing has produced nearly 10,000 737s — though not all of them are still flying today. A country music singer says that while she was flying with her service dog for her Type 1 Diabetes on Monday, an American Airlines flight attendant “harassed” her for the entire flight.Singer RaeLynn was traveling on a flight from Charlotte (CLT) to Salisbury, Maryland (SBY) with her 85-pound German Shepard, Jazz, which helps detect when her blood sugar is running low. Since launching an all-new business-class product on its A350s last year, Delta has been slowly detailing plans to launch the same seats on some of its other aircraft. It’s the end of an era for Southwest Airlines.The low-cost carrier has officially closed out its orders on Boeing 737 Next Generation planes, which it has ordered since 1993.Southwest’s all-Boeing 737 fleet received its last 737 Next Generation aircraft on Sunday and will be ordering only the new 737 MAX model of the narrow-body planes from here on out. (Next Generation is the over-arching name given to the -600, -700, -800 and -900 series of the 737....
