In the most recent incident, traveler Jimmy Hart had been volunteering with the American Red Cross to assist flood victims from nearby Vernon County, and treated himself to a souvenir by purchasing the grenade at a nearby novelty shop....

I’ll be honest, when I first joined Twitter over three years ago I thought it was really stupid. Why would someone need to write mini messages for the world to see? It was home to Cathay Pacific, but it is better known for its location that made landings particularly perilous. Air France is warning customers flight disruptions are possible on Thursday, February 22, due to a staff strike.The strike will only affect flights operated by Air France and its low-fares subsidiary Joon. Flights operated by other Air France subsidiaries, including KLM, will not be affected by the strike.The airline expects to operate on a reduced flight schedule of 50% of its long-haul departures, 75% of medium-haul departures and 85% of short-haul departures....

Update 7/20/17: An AA representative clarified that the airline will be installing 50 Main Cabin Extra seats on the A332s, though two will be reserved for customers requiring special assistance.Over the weekend, there were big changes unveiled for American Airlines A330s. In short: Starting soon, you’ll be able to fly in a premium economy seat on one of AA’s wide-body Airbus planes. Over the few months while the fleet is being retrofit, these premium economy seats will be treated as Main Cabin Extra — meaning elites get to choose these seats for free....

Boeing’s aircraft deliveries are up 9% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2018, the company said Tuesday. The production increase was due in large part to higher demand for the company’s 737 aircraft.In Q1 of 2018 that ended in March, Boeing delivered 184 commercial airplanes, 132 of which were new single-aisle 737s. Boeing is also well ahead of its main rival Airbus in net aircraft orders. In Q1, Boeing marked 221 net aircraft orders, while competitor Airbus only booked 45 orders....

Edinburgh-based Edesix Ltd. had primarily made lapel-fitted miniature cameras for workers in the health, rail and retail industries in Europe, but made news in the US when the New York Times discussed its contract with Aurigny, an airline based in Guernsey and serving the Channel Islands, the UK and France. The newspaper described Aurigny as possibly the first airline to give its workers body cams.“Like with all carriers, you may occasionally encounter individuals who can be rude, aggressive and abusive to our staff,” Dave Cox, Aurigny’s ground operations manager, told the Times....

I am about to arrive in what is — if you go by news reports in the US media — perhaps the most dangerous place in the world right now. But the other 160 passengers on my full United Airlines flight from Nagoya, Japan, to Guam do not seem to be scared off by the news. The Boeing 737-800 is packed solid with Japanese tourists — there are just four English-speaking passengers on the flight — and we left behind standby passengers at the gate....
