Alaska Airlines pilot Betty Pina is suing the carrier after she says she was drugged and raped by a fellow pilot on a three-day assignment in June 2017.Pina and her attorneys filed a formal lawsuit against Alaska Airlines for its lack of corrective action following Pina’s complete cooperation and statements to investigators both within and outside the airline. Pina contends that the airline is liable both for her captain’s actions, as well as failing to hold him accountable after her reports were filed....

Starbucks has its eyes set on a new rewards program. In a statement, Starbucks detailed plans that it expects to continue to develop its Starbucks Rewards program, giving customers more choices for redemptions and payment.“The company expects newer digital initiatives to contribute one to two points of comp growth in the US, supported by a redesigned Starbucks Rewards program that provides customers more choice around redemptions and payment, as well as expanded personalization capabilities for customers that have a digital relationship with the company,” the company said in a statement....

You can even buy status without having flown a single flight, though it’s intended to help people who fall short of the required mileage for various elite levels to pay their way up to the next level. For example, if you’ve never stepped foot on their planes, you can buy Chairman’s Preferred (their top status) for $3,999 (though that drops to only $2,999 as long as you have at least 1 Preferred Qualifying Mile) or Platinum for $2,999 ($2,499 if you have at least 1 Preferred Qualifying Mile)....
