Air France operates a total of 15 Airbus A330 aircraft, and starting in January 2019, the two cabins that carry the most passengers will look vastly different than they do today. Several reputable news outlets, like the AP and ABC News, just reported that both American and US Airways boards approved a deal to merge the airlines. Details will be announced early tomorrow morning, but basically US Airways CEO Doug Parker will be the CEO and the headquarters will be in Dallas (American’s current headquarters). The deal is reportedly worth almost $11 billion dollars, giving American creditors 72% ownership and US Airways shareholders 28%....

The US Centers for Disease Control is helping to investigate an outbreak of vomiting and diarrhea aboard a cruise ship in Alaska.At least 73 people have reported becoming sick with a stomach bug while on the Holland America cruise ship Zaandam, which set sail on June 18 and is due to stop in various Alaskan ports before finally docking in Seattle on July 2.The CDC reports that the causative agent of the sickness is still unknown, although it sounds a lot like a potential norovirus outbreak....
A Cathay Pacific Boeing 777 smashed into a light pole while it was being towed to its gate at Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in Rome on Wednesday. Back in November, Emirates shared that it would be (finally) getting rid of the dreaded business class middle seat, going from a 2-3-2 configuration to a 2-2-2. A woman says that Alaska Airlines kicked her family off a flight to Seattle (SEA) on Monday after her teenage brother with Down syndrome vomited a small amount.Meaghan Hess, a third-year law student and staffer for the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals, was not traveling with her family from St. Louis (STL) to Seattle (SEA) on Alaska Flight 779 on Monday. However, in a written statement Hess says that her brother had just boarded the flight when flight attendants asked him and his parents to deplane....
Hopefully Singapore Airlines is done with the devaluation announcements to its KrisFlyer program. Effective March 23, the 15% discount for booking online will be eliminated, and the carrier is increasing the price of several awards on its own metal. On the positive side, there will no longer be any fuel surcharges on Singapore and SilkAir flights. And thankfully, the devaluation didn’t include any changes to the Star Alliance partner award chart....
