IHG is following in the footsteps of other hotel chains and changing its cancellation policy. Beginning August 4, 2017, the chain is changing its cancellation policy for hotels in the US from at least before 6:00pm on the day of check-in to at least 24 hours in advance.The chain implemented the policy late last month for its European properties, and it expects to have the 24-hour cancellation policy in effect at all of its properties in Asia, the Middle East and Africa by the end of September....

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has stopped serving peanuts as snacks to customers in all its cabin classes. However, the airline will continue to serve other nuts —including cashews, macadamias and almonds on its flights.TPG reached out to Singapore Airlines, and they confirmed that the new policy had been in effect since April 2018 and would apply to all its cabin classes. Snack packs with peanuts had been replaced with peas and crackers in Economy Class, according to an SIA spokesperson....

I stayed at the Joule Hotel in Dallas, Texas this October for a wedding weekend. The hotel, a part of Starwood’s Luxury Collection, gets pretty solid reviews on Flyertalk and other hotel rating sites, so I was excited for my stay. A Nipah virus outbreak has claimed 10 victims in just a few scant days, according to health officials in the south Indian state of Kerala. An additional 25 patients have been hospitalized in quarantine after exhibiting symptoms of the virus. A nurse who treated the original Nipah patients has also died from the disease.The outbreak began in the northern district of Kozhikode and has spread to neighboring Malappuram district, said Rajeev Sadanandan, the health secretary of Kerala....

There’s no doubt that turbulence can be scary. And one positive of flying the massive Airbus A380 is that the giant aircraft doesn’t seem to be shaken by much. American Airlines has said that it’ll be ending its codeshare agreements with Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways. According to American, it notified the two Middle Eastern carriers about the termination on June 29.American has been protesting Emirates, Etihad and Qatar’s operations in the US saying that the government subsidies they receive give the airlines an unfair advantage over American carriers.“Given the extremely strong public stance that American has taken on the ME3 issue, we have reached the conclusion that the codesharing relationships between American and these carriers no longer make sense for us,” American said in a statement....
