Spring might have officially started days ago, but that’s not stopping yet another winter storm from hitting the Northeast region. Although not as severe as the four nor’easters that pummeled the area, this storm is expected to bring about two to six inches of snow from Pennsylvania to coastal New England, the Weather Channel reports.By 8:00am on Monday, New York’s Central Park had accumulated 4.8 inches of snow — the most snowfall in one day the area has seen in April since 1986....

An American Airlines flight en route from Zurich (ZRH) to Philadelphia (PHL) diverted to London (LHR) after declaring an emergency mid-flight on Friday.The Boeing 767-300 (registration N349AN) departed from its gate at ZRH just after 11:40am local time and was more than one hour into flight when it began diverting north toward LHR.The aircraft landed without incident at LHR just after 12:30pm local time on runway 09L.At this point, not much is known about the incident or what caused the aircraft to divert other than a maintenance issue....

While this isn’t as spectacular as the $150 Delta European fare sale yesterday, I still think this is a great deal: Delta is offering roundtrip business on their new non-stop Boston/Miami to London routes for as low as $1,498 total round trip, including all taxes. These fares seem to be good until the second week of May and the example below is for Easter weekend. FYI, I checked on these flights originating from London and they pull up nearly twice as expensive....

A family of four was bumped from their Southwest flight to Santa Ana on Friday after several other passengers accused one of their children of having lice. The Newmans were traveling on Southwest Flight 1652 from Chicago (MDW) to Santa Ana (SNA) and on to Oakland (OAK) for a family trip to Disneyland when accusations from other passengers got them bumped from their flight.The Chicago family, with two daughters aged 4 and 6, were waiting in the gate area for their flight when J Newman’s wife noticed something on her daughter....

New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) came in at #2 on our list of worst airports in the United States — fortunately, it’ll soon get a much-needed $10 billion upgrade, through a new plan introduced by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced new protocols for aircraft landing during storms at New York’s JFK Airport, which it hopes will prevent a repeat of the mass confusion during a blizzard in January that snarled the airport’s operations and left many flights circling the area without a place to land.The Port Authority, which runs the airport, said now when a storm emergency is declared, airlines must get permission to land at JFK before departing from their airport of origin....
