This week, Southwest unveiled the newest member of its specialty aircraft fleet — Louisiana One. The Texas-based airline flew the Boeing 737-700 on Wednesday, March 7, to Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY), where the plane was greeted by Southwest employees and customers, state and local politicians and, in true NOLA-fashion, a celebration with a second line and brass band.The livery of the plane is covered in Louisiana’s state flag — a pelican feeding three of her chicks, complete with the state’s motto: “Union, Justice, and Confidence....

Update 12/28/2017: The Turkey-US visa spat has been resolved and now Americans are able to easily apply for Turkish e-visas once again.Tensions are rising with one of the United States’ key allies in the Middle East. Effective immediately, US citizens are unable to get Turkish visas. This essentially halts travel of US citizens to Turkey for those who haven’t already obtained a visa.Here’s what happened: Last Wednesday, a US consulate employee in Istanbul was arrested for suspected ties to Fethullah Gülen, a Turkish cleric exiled in the US whom the Turkish government blames for organizing an attempted coup last July....
