I, like many of you, got in on the British Airways 100,000 mile bonus this spring and I recently received an interesting NYC dining promotion, which sparked my interest:“Use your British Airways Visa® Card at any NYC MICHELIN Guide 2011 star-rated restaurant today through October 1, 2011. Dine once and receive a $50 statement credit. Dine twice and receive another $50 statement credit for a total of $100. Minimum purchase of $50 each time you dine....

As I’ve written about lately, there have been a ton of super cheap business class airfares recently - even to Europe during peak season. Continental also usually runs a pre-summer sale on business class, so I expect more low fares (and subsequent matching by competitors) to appear in the next month or so.These fares are so low, they are almost as cheap as coach. I almost feel sorry for the people who don’t know any better and are booking coach for pennies less, rather than getting to enjoy full lie-flat seats (and tons of extra miles) on their flights....

In February Delta announced they’d be adding a premium economy cabin to their international flights - a decision which I hailed as a tall traveler. These seats are the same exact seats as coach, but they come with 4 more inches of much needed legroom and up to 50% more recline. If they are anything like KLM’s Economy Comfort seats (which I adore), I will be a happy man. Granted, after my 3 Delta trans-Atlantic flights to Stockholm and Copenhagen, I’ve sworn off international coach travel (at least until the next amazing mistake fare), but I do look forward to trying out this new product....

US newcomer Hong Kong Airlines took our community by storm yesterday with its outrageously cheap business-class tickets to Asia. The reason why many people wait until after July 1 is that the airline will usually match/challenge your status until February 2 years later....

Priority Club PointBreaks are reduced-level award redemptions at Priority Club hotels (Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Indigo, Holiday Inn, etc.) that require just 5,000 Priority Club points for a free night. 5,000 points is a pretty low redemption level especially for Intercontinental properties, which normally require between 30,000-50,000 points, and Hotel Indigo locations and Crowne Plazas, which require between 25,000-35,000 points. If you need Priority Club points quickly, they transfer 1:1 from Chase Ultimate Rewards (note: transfers usually take 1-2 business days) or simply buy them via Priority Club directly for ....

One of the most generous perks of United’s Premier 1K (and top-tier status from American and Delta) is the upgrade certificates you’ll receive that let you book a lower cabin and confirm a business or first-class seat long before departure. Of course, just having the upgrade certificates doesn’t guarantee an upgrade, but if you know how to make the most of the tools at your disposal, such as United’s Expert Mode, you can vastly improve your chances of confirming a higher-class seat....

Yesterday I reminded everyone to sign-up for Starwood’s Double/Triple promotion and I even gloated how I lucked out and was in a Starwood property for the first night of the promo. Believe it or not, the Blue Lagoon was created as a result of the operations of a geothermal power plant back in the 1970s — nowadays, it’s one of Iceland’s most popular tourist attractions. Located on the Reykjanes Peninsula, the lagoon houses geothermal water that originates 6,500 feet below the surface, where freshwater and seawater combine at extreme temperatures. As the water travels to the surface, it acquires silica and minerals which supposedly are healing for the skin....
