American Airlines recently began flying its new premium economy product, and Delta’s gearing up to launch a new cabin of its own next month, called Premium Select. That leaves United as the sole legacy carrier to not offer a cabin between coach and biz — and even though we’ve heard rumblings of something on the horizon, officially there’s no indication that will change.However, I noticed something interesting ahead of my trip on United’s inaugural flight with the retrofitted 767-300ER over the weekend: two rows of Economy Plus at the far back of the cabin....

Today Uber unveiled a new component to its app that will help people get to and from doctors’ appointments. Uber Health is the newest addition to the ride-sharing app — Uber hopes that the new feature will help those with transportation barriers overcome issues involving getting proper medical attention. The new feature does not require patients who participate to have the app, or even a smartphone.Uber is teaming up with healthcare organizations around the country to provide accessible transportation for patients who have trouble getting to doctors’ appointments....

The US State Department has downgraded its travel advisory to US citizens on trips to Cuba from level three “reconsider travel” to level two “exercise increased caution.“The travel warning had previously been elevated after mysterious illnesses struck several diplomats working in the US Embassy in Havana. Authorities believe the illnesses are the result of “sonic attacks” on the embassy employees, who began exhibiting a range of physical symptoms including “ear complaints and hearing loss, dizziness, headaches, fatigue, cognitive issues, visual problems and difficulty sleeping....

Flight attendants and aviation officials repeatedly warn passengers to leave their carry-on bags behind in the event of an emergency. Bags can slow down an evacuation, and while passengers fiddle with overhead bins, fellow flyers can be left in harm’s way.Still, it happens time and time again: Passengers grab for their luggage in an urgent evacuation. Now, a new survey shows that 35% of passengers say they would take their luggage off a plane in an emergency situation — even if they are specifically told not to by the flight crew....

The saga of the Bombardier C Series program came to an official end on Tuesday with the unveiling of a new name for the aircraft program. A couple on a camping trip in Southern California found an Oregon woman who had been missing for seven days after accidentally driving off a cliff.The couple, Chelsea and Chad Moore, were on a hike on the cliffs of Big Sur on Friday when they noticed a car at the bottom of one of the cliffs. The Moores noted the license plate number of the white Jeep at the foot of a 200-foot cliff and reported it to the authorities....
