On Wednesday, Chase’s website experienced a significant security issue which exposed customers’ sensitive financial data. Numerous reports from Chase customers say that they logged in only to find the account information of another Chase customer.A report of the breach was filed by Chase customer Jason Kessler, who detailed how his fiancée logged into Chase on Wednesday to find the full account information of a person they had never met.Given that full account access was available to those that logged in, this means that the glitch exposed all of the following data: Full name, log-in username, phone number(s), email address(es), mailing address(es), income, travel plans and any other personal information that you’ve stored in your Chase profile....

On the heels of Ryanair’s call for airports to stop serving alcohol in the morning, Ireland’s other major international airline, Aer Lingus, made it clear it will refuse to let inebriated passengers board its planes.Aer Lingus’s statement was prompted by an incident over the weekend in which a Ryanair flight from Dublin (DUB) to Ibiza (IBZ) diverted to Paris Beauvais–Tillé Airport (BVA) because of a large group of allegedly unruly and disruptive passengers, including three who were detained by police upon landing....

There’s another strike in France affecting air traffic starting today, but this time it’s not the air traffic controllers. Around 35% of Air France’s cabin crew will be on strike from today through August 2.The good news is that most of Air France’s flights will still be operating during this strike. Air France has announced that it will still be operating 90% of its long-haul flights — at least for the first few days of the strike....

Passengers at Brisbane International Airport (BNE) in Australia were shocked Wednesday morning when a bag labeled with “Bomb to Brisbane” came down the baggage carousel.The suspicious piece of luggage was discovered by a woman who was waiting to collect her luggage after her flight from Singapore. At first, the woman said she was confused as to what it was as it not only said “Bomb to Brisbane” but also included someone’s name and the word “Mumbai” underneath it....

Earlier this week I applauded Delta for their generally positive 2011 Skymiles program enhancements - like doing away with Skymiles expiration and giving Skyteam ElitePlus status to Gold Medallions. What they forgot to include, was that they are changing their award charts - especially on international routes. No official announcement on all of the new changes has been made, but from what I gather, they will be splitting Asia up into different regions; such as Asia 1 (Japan, Korea), Asia 2 (China), Asia 3 (Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, etc)....

Today, Delta Air Lines has become the third major airline to spend around $4 million to aid the TSA in processing passengers more quickly....

Bed bugs are no joke. This week, JetBlue Airways introduced a very special aircraft at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK): an Airbus A320 dedicated to the men and women who serve in the New York Police Department.The royal-blue plane prominently features the NYPD flag on its tail. The National Transportation Safety Board issued an investigation update this afternoon regarding Southwest Flight 1380’s engine failure on April 17.The investigative update stated that the Boeing 737’s “maintenance records indicate that the fan blades were last overhauled 10,712 engine cycles before the accident.
