Diplomatic tensions between Saudi Arabia and Canada have been worsening recently, after Canada called for the release of several Saudi women’s activists.Now, the nations’ airlines are being brought into the feud, with Saudi’s state carrier suspending flights to Canada indefinitely.The conflict intensified when Canada would not retract its statement regarding more than a dozen jailed high-profile women’s rights activists. “Let me be very clear. Canada will always stand up for human rights in Canada and around the world, and women’s rights are human rights,” Canada’s Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland said....

It is 2018, but according to Women in Aviation Worldwide, female airline pilots in the US still only represent 7% of the total number of pilots in the country. Of course, that would mean that men make up 93% of the total number of pilots flying our planes. I’ve seen some worldwide stats that aren’t significantly different when you take a global view. The Woman in Aviation Worldwide group also states that in the US women hold over 79% of the flight attendant roles....

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that the US would officially be pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal, delivering on one of his campaign promises.Trump also said he would be re-instating economic sanctions of the “highest level” on Iran. Caught in the crosshairs of the policy reversal — once again — is Boeing, as is competitor Airbus. After sanctions were originally lifted during the Obama administration in 2015, Boeing inked a deal to sell 80 jets to Iran Air (including 50 737 MAX 8s and 15 777-300ERs) and 30 737 MAXs to Iran Aseman Airlines with an option for 30 more — worth about $20 billion according to list prices....

Delta just announced their targeted promotion for frequent flyers with July birthdays - Register here, and travel between June 23 and August 31, 2011 and get 2,000 bonus Skymiles (not Medallion Qualifying Miles).To be eligible for these promotions, you have to opt in for Skymiles promotions and have your birthday in your Skymiles profile. If it doesn’t allow you to register, don’t freak out - it is targeted and generally no amount of complaining will get you in on the fun....

A family and their small child were removed from a Southwest flight Wednesday after the child was agitated due to her fear of flying.According to Facebook user Alexis Armstrong, the incident occurred before Southwest flight 1683 departed from Chicago (MDW) to Atlanta (ATL).
