La Compagnie, the all-business-class airline that offers angle-flat seats on flights between Paris (CDG) and Newark (EWR), is opting to go fully lie-flat with its new A321neo jets. On Thursday, the French carrier announced that it placed an order for two A321neo aircraft, which it expects to take delivery of in 2019.Currently, La Compagnie’s fleet consists of two retrofitted Boeing 757-200s with 74 seats. The Paris-based airline, now three years old, did not say whether the A321s will be in addition to, or taking the place of, the 757s....

Many airlines offer special perks for going above and beyond elite stats requirements. They do this to incentivize flyers to stay loyal, even after they achieve the highest echelons of elite status. For example, some people may try to achieve status in another alliance once they hit top tier, which can be a smart way to diversify one’s mileage and travel strategy.American Airlines has historically offered a program called Elite Rewards and they use elite qualifying points, not miles as qualification....

A pair of American Airlines flight attendants filed a class-action lawsuit against uniform manufacturer Twin Hill last week, alleging that its new uniforms have caused health problems for thousands of employees. The plaintiffs — attendants Thor Zurbriggen and Dena Catan — claim in the August 3 suit that as many as 7,000 AA flight attendants may have suffered skin rashes, vertigo and even impaired liver functions as a direct result of the new uniforms....

In the days of ultra-low-cost carriers, passengers generally aren’t expecting much in the way of amenities, even on intercontinental flights. But, full-service carriers have maintained at least a minimum level of amenities — such as complimentary seat-back entertainment and meals, and power at every seat — to distinguish themselves from their bargain-basement competitors. Expedia became the latest US-based travel service to hop on the Cuba craze this Tuesday with an announcement that customers could now book hotels on the Caribbean island.
