Throughout the day, British Airways passengers have been facing delays and cancellations on flights around the world because of an IT issue that was first reported on Monday night. Passengers who had flights with the carrier cited the inability to check in at airport kiosks, resulting in mass delays and cancellations. The issues were fairly widespread, although it’s unknown exactly how many airports and flights were impacted by the computer problem....

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Delta has made an unannounced devaluation to its award chart. Yet again the victim is flights to Europe. In August 2016, Delta increased the minimum amount of business class awards to Europe from 62,500 to 70,000 miles. Since then, except for the rare business class award flash sale, the price to Europe has been 140,000 SkyMiles round-trip.But now Delta is starting the second half of 2018 by bumping that minimum amount from 70,000 to 82,000 miles each way — or 164,000 miles round-trip....

Two Jet Airways pilots put the their passengers and the plane at risk when they reportedly left the cabin unattended mid-flight, after a physical altercation.According to reports, a male pilot of a Jet Airways Boeing 777 slapped a female colleague during an argument. After the assault, the woman left the cockpit in tears. While she was being consoled by the flight crew, the other pilot left the cockpit as well, apparently leaving the flight controls unattended....

A man was taken into police custody on Thursday morning at Orlando International Airport (MCO) after showing up too late for a flight and then acting “erratic.“Jeffrey Epstein, 59, of Lakeland, Florida, showed up at 6am for a 6:24am departure, according to an American Airlines spokesperson, too late to be checked in. When he “started yelling at our team members,” the spokesperson said, AA employees called authorities. Epstein engaged in a verbal exchange, Fox 35 Orlando reports....

An American Airlines flight was evacuated on the taxiway of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) Wednesday afternoon due to a smoky smell that filled the aircraft cabin.The plane was met by ambulances and fire trucks as a precaution, and its 64 passengers and four crew members were bused to the airport’s terminal after the evacuation. American says there were no injuries.As Flight 3470 from Columbus, Ohio (CMH) was landing in Chicago (ORD), a smoky smell began to fill the CRJ-700 aircraft — registration N527EA....

The Boeing factory tour in Everett, Washington is a must-do for any avgeek visiting the Seattle area. While more than five million visitors have visited the Boeing factory in Everett, Washington, far fewer have had the opportunity to check out the other factory in Renton, 11 miles southeast of Seattle.That’s all going to change now — at least virtually. Boeing has launched “Incredible: The Story of the Boeing Renton Site,” an interactive site providing 360-degree-views, videos and photo galleries of the production facility at Renton for the Boeing 737, one of the company’s best selling commercial jets (14,146 sold as of April 2017, to be exact)....

Travelers around the world were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Anthony Bourdain. While his culinary achievements and film credentials speak volumes to the life he lead, Bourdain was more than just a celebrity chef. He was a diplomat and an ambassador (although he never held those titles formally). He was a scientist, always researching and discovering a new frontier of culture and cuisine.
