United’s booking site currently is booking awards to/from some Asian cities for only 4 or 8 miles total. I was able to book a one-way standard award for 4 miles at 130pm EST so this is still active. I was having a hard time with US to HKG awards and China awards as well, but play around with it to see if you can get the system to price your award out for only 4 miles....

It’s one of the oldest tricks in the book — scammers send a generic email to thousands or millions of email accounts, prompting the recipient to click a link and “log in” with their account credentials. Rather than granting access to the site as expected, usernames and passwords are transmitted directly to the scammers, who can in turn use that information to access your account.This week, a new email is making the rounds....

The Avios mileage currency can be great to utilize for partner flights, but the cost-prohibitive carrier surcharges on the airline’s own flights usually makes booking awards on BA a terrible value.But where the airline can come through for those of us looking for a deal is by providing solid discounts on revenue flights....

Some airlines are going bankrupt and others are losing vast amounts of money, but Qantas is bucking the trend. Tomorrow, the Australian carrier is expected to announce the second-largest profit in company history. As part of my current trip to Europe for the Star Alliance MegaDo, I decided to fly two airlines that are notable omissions from our reviews arsenal: Alitalia and Air Berlin. Often, the most powerful thing to have at your disposal during an airline delay is knowledge and information…well, that and a power plug. This week, I visited Boeing’s South Carolina facility in Charleston, home to a massive Dreamliner manufacturing plant and the final assembly point of all extended-length Boeing 787-10s. The occasion? Air Tahiti Nui took delivery of its very first 787-9, and I joined the delivery flight to Los Angeles (LAX) via Oklahoma City (OKC).But as significant as that delivery was for the Air Tahiti Nui team and frequent travelers to the airline’s hub in Papeete (PPT), there was an even more notable aircraft positioned front and center just a few feet away — United’s first 787-10....
