Yesterday, after much outcry from those on both the right and left about human rights abuses, President Trump signed an executive order stopping the forced separation of migrant families crossing the border illegally.American, Alaska, Frontier, United and Southwest all penned letters to the US Government stating they wouldn’t willfully help the government transport immigrant children separated from their parents.Ride-hailing giants Uber and Lyft both introduced policies to help the affected families before Trump had signed yesterday’s executive order....

In recent years, a frustrating new trend has added revenue for airlines at the passenger’s expense — 3-4-3 seating on Boeing’s 777, a plane that for decades offered at most nine seats across in the economy cabin.At this point, though, “everyone is doing it” — squeezing an extra seat into every row of coach, that is. American Airlines has 3-4-3 seating on its new and retrofitted 777s, as does United, and so do top international carriers like Emirates and Qatar....

Air France is the latest travel brand attempting to target millennials. The carrier announced today that it’s going to launch a new, lower cost airline, called Joon, which will represent its attempt to lure new and younger travelers.At launch, which is expected in the fall, Joon will offer travelers short-haul routes from its base at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle (CDG). In 2018, Air France is planning for Joon to start long-haul routes....

Back in October 2015, American Express Membership Rewards devalued the transfer ratio to British Airways Avios. Instead of being able to transfer points 1:1, the transfer rate was dropped to 250 Membership Rewards = 200 Avios. The transfer rate has stayed at this point ever since, with only the rare bonus making it a better deal.Well, without fanfare, it looks like the old 1:1 ratio is back! In the past I’ve viewed social media as an alternate and more nimble way to relay information that was already available on the site. According to an internal memo just released, Southwest’s alcoholic drink prices are going up on March 1.Prices are increasing by $1-2 per drink, switching from a flat $5 pricing scheme to a “tiered pricing structure.” Starting March 1, Southwest’s on-board alcoholic prices will be:Miller Lite, Dos Equis: $6Fat Tire, Lagunitas and a season beer option: $7Wine: $6Liquor: $7This will be Southwest’s first alcohol price change since 2009....

A 24-year-old Florida man who brandished a wine bottle to beat a Delta flight crew and other passengers on board was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday in a Seattle federal court.Joseph D. Hudek IV was charged with one count of interfering with a flight-crew member and three counts of assault on an aircraft — charges he previously pleaded guilty to in February after starting a mid-flight brawl on a Delta flight 129 from Seattle (SEA) to Beijing (PEK) in July 2017....
