Now through November 30, 2013, US Airways is offering targeted Dividend Miles members the opportunity to purchase miles either for themselves or for others at a 100% bonus. That means you can get miles for as little as 1.88 cents apiece, which can be a pretty great value.US Airways is known as the cheap liquidator of Star Alliance miles, and the last time they offered a buy miles bonus was in August - that one actually started as a targeted promotion as well before being opened up to the general public....

Of the 20 most-hated companies in America, a full 10% are airlines that tens of thousands of passengers fly every day. The distinction goes to United Airlines and Spirit Airlines, which made the list of the most-disliked companies in the country.According to a recent report by 24/7 Wall St., the 20 most-hated companies in America range in industries from social media giants to publishers, and yes, airlines. The report looked at a range of information, from major news events to customer survey results from the American Customer Satisfaction Index, employee reviews on Glassdoor and its own customer satisfaction survey....

At least 74 people have died since wildfires began sweeping across Greece on Monday, according to officials. Nearly 200 people have been injured.The fires, which originated near Athens, have driven tourists and residents to flee the capital city and nearby areas, including the island of Crete and the resort villages of Mati and Kineta (primarily popular with Greek vacationers). Reports from the area described a chaotic scene — a breakneck blaze swallowing entire towns and forcing people to leap into the Aegean Sea to avoid the flames....

The airline’s CEO, Alex Cruz, said that passengers will be allowed to rebook flights through the end of November or request a refund without penalty.Separately, American Airlines adjusted its travel waiver terms again — passengers who were scheduled to travel to, from or through London or Manchester between May 27-30 can now rebook without penalty for flights departing from May 28 through June 5....

Hawaiian Airlines announced it would be adding premium economy seats to its long-haul A330’s back in October, and it looks like the seats are finally on sale for flights starting August 1, 2014.Hawaiian’s new Extra Comfort section.Billed as “Extra Comfort” seats, these are just Hawaiian’s standard economy seats with 36 inches of legroom instead of the normal economy 31 inches. Late this morning, President Trump signed a revised version of his travel ban, which was originally blocked by a federal court in February. The new travel ban, which will take effect on March 16, names six countries, omitting Iraq reportedly because the country is increasing cooperation with US security vetting measures. Like its predecessor, the revised travel ban will suspend the refugee program for 120 days and limit immigration from the six countries — Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen — for the next 90 days....
