Hyatt’s current first quarter promotion, which actually runs through April 30, 2014, is called Endless Possibilities and includes the option to earn either free nights or bonus points. If you haven’t done so already, you need to register here before March 31 and choose one of the two earning options.Free NightsEarn a free night at any Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel worldwide after every five nights. Enjoy four free nights after you stay a maximum of 20 nights. Redeem free nights with no blackout dates through July 31, 2014.In 2014, category 4 hotels will cost 15,000 points a night, so getting a free stay after 5 nights is like getting an extra 3,000 points per night - not bad! However, you need to use the free nights by July 31, which isn’t a huge window.Bonus PointsThe other option is earning bonus points rather than free nights based on the number of nights you stay during the promo period.5 Nights = 5,000 bonus points10 Nights + 10,000 Points = 15,000 total promotion bonus points15 Nights + 15,000 Points = 30,000 total promotion bonus points20 Nights + 20,000 Points = 50,000 total promotion bonus pointsSign up for our daily newsletterEmail addressSign upI would like to subscribe to The Points Guy newsletters and special email promotions. If you’re only staying 5 nights total, then I’d choose the free night option because it’s worth up to 15,000 points if you redeem it for a Category 4 property. Even at 10 nights, you’re getting 2 free nights worth up to a total of 30,000 points, so you still might be better off there. However, if you have a lot of stays, I’d personally rather take the bonus points since their usefulness extends far beyond the free-night expiration of July 31, and you can use them at any category of Hyatt property rather than just a Category 1-4.Whichever option you choose, though, be sure to register by Monday so you don’t miss out on the bonus earning opportunity![card card-name=‘Ink Plus® Business Credit Card’ card-id=‘22129636’ type=‘javascript’ bullet-id=‘1’]
