More than 300 guests gathered at our TPGtv video relaunch party in Los Angeles yesterday to celebrate our new video series in style.Conceived as a recreation of my travels in Japan earlier this year, the night felt like an exotic carnival: Guests could feast on ramen and sushi (made on the spot), pose for photos with geisha girls, dance with giant robots and watch me exploring Japan on large video screens and at iPad stations. Here’s a quick tour of the evening’s entertainment:The front of the venue in West Hollywood was decked out to look like a traditional Japanese entrance.Guests immediately entered a magnificent space with a bar at the center and booths on the periphery.DJ Myles Hendrik  worked the crowd from a perch situated over one of the large video screens. Cherry blossoms lined the walls.Chefs prepared sushi all night long, which proved to be a big hit with partygoers.I’m tall but the illuminated robots were even taller. Here I am with Saville Dorfman. Our Editor-in-Chief Zach Honig and Senior Points & Miles Contributor Jason Steele manned the concierge area and answered questions about the videos, visiting Japan and flying on Singapore Suites.A photographer snapped pics of guests posing with geisha girls. There were some special guest appearances, including Eric Rutherford (left), Merle Ginsberg (center) and George Kotsiopoulos (right).Toward the end of the night, we hosted a mini game of “Family Feud” – two guests, picked at random, faced off in a trivia contest about the content of the new videos. The winner, Xander Tarigo (left), won two roundtrip tickets to Japan on Singapore Suites.I was thrilled with the videos and the party and — as always — humbled by meeting so many TPG fans in one place. If you weren’t able to join us for the TPGtv launch last night in LA, I hope you’ll be able to join us for our TPG reader meet-up at the new Amex Centurion Lounge in Houston on August 2.
