See privacy policy.Hotel promotions have been pretty lackluster in 2013, with the occasional bonus point opportunity. Starwood just announced today that their first 2014 promotion will be an extra 2,500 bonus points for every 5 nights- up to 20 eligible nights (10,000 points). If you hit 25 nights you also get a 5,000 point bonus.Yawn. 500 extra points is nice, but even if you get the full 15,000 points, that is half of the points needed for a free night at a top tier property. This pales in comparison to past promotions (I remember the days of up to 100,000 bonus points or free weekend nights). Heck, even their current Take Two promotion (Sept 1- December 15 stays), which offers the same 2,500 bonus for every 5 nights plus double Starpoints.The good news is that all properties are participating, which is a nice change from the long exclusion list on some past promotions.Registration begins in mid-December and you can sign-up for a reminder at this page.Here’s to hoping other hotel chains will launch more creative/lucrative promotions in 2014!
