See privacy policy.I detailed the Stash Hotel rewards program last fall and to sum it up, it’s basically a decent way to earn points at independent hotels. While the earning/redeeming ratio (you earn roughly 5% of your spend to use on future stays) isn’t as lucrative as the major hotel chains who can provide 50%+ returns if you play them correctly, the program can still provide a decent value, especially if you are planning to stay at one of their 120 hotels anyway.Their properties are generally high-end and unique. In fact I used to live in the Upper West side of Manhattan and always put family up at the On the Avenue hotel, which was convenient, nice, and a great value. I just wish I had earned Stash Points! One of my major gripes about their program was the lack of blockbuster promotions (though, it’s not like their chain competitiors have offered much this year either), but they have now announced a bunch of property specific promotions. These include 2,000 bonus points (~$20) when booking at Affinia hotels for the first time and free upgrades at On the Avenue (way to throw salt on the wound!).Overall, I look forward to Stash growing and challenging the major hotel chains to keep innovating or else risk losing premium customers who want niche service and benefits.[card card-name=‘Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Credit Card’ card-id=‘220611156’ type=‘javascript’ bullet-id=‘1’]
