Although exhausting, I really enjoyed my 24 hours in the city and was able to cover a lot of ground. Saturday was a sunny, gorgeous day so I walked for miles exploring the old city and taking in the Stockholm vibe. Nearly everyone was stylish and beautiful and the city was pristine. Drinks were the equivalent of $20 and everything else was pretty expensive, so I was glad to find out the Sheraton had a top-notch lounge - full hot breakfast and drinks/small plates in the lounge in the evening. I also got a nice suite upgrade and the bed was phenomenal, so that helped me make the most out of a short trip. I used a measly 4,000 Starwood points and $60 USD for the hotel stay-a huge value in my opinion, since the hotel was going for over $250 a night. In fact, the Cash & Points option of the Starwood Preferred Guest program is one of my favorite aspects of the program and what keeps me coming back as a Platinum guest.I met a bunch of really interesting Swedes and actually bumped into a group of people were were also from NYC and on the same flight deal. Word gets around quick :-)I’ll write a full report about the Delta transatlantic coach experience and the Sheraton Stockholm (which was excellent) when I’m not jet-lagged. Here are a couple teasers, ending with me having a cocktail at the kitschy Ice Bar (when in Rome!).NK Department StoreThe Wolfs Paw- 100 proof vodka and some sort of fruit juice.
